Sofie has been tagged...

I must say, I'm a little scared of what she might say...

1. What is something mom always says to you? "Please clean your playroom."
2. What makes mom happy? "When I help brother."
3. What makes mom sad? "When I don't listen."
4. How does your mom make you laugh? "Tell Jokes and tickle me!"
5. What was your mom like as a child? "A child..."
6. How old is your mom? "How old are you Mom?"
7. How tall is your mom? "Big."
8. What is her favorite thing to do? "Do art and play with me." (I'm so glad she didn't say, "Yell at me..")
9. What does your mom do when you're not around? "Go shopping and go out with her girlfriends" (Ha ha! I wish...:)
10. If your mom becomes famous, what will it be for? "Because she's a really good cook." (I love ya Sof!)
11. What is your mom really good at? "Cooking. No wait! Doing her business and cooking!"
12. What is your mom not very good at? "That's a mean question."
13. What does your mom do for her job? "Cook."
14. What is your mom's favorite food? "Sushi!"
15. What makes you proud of your mom? "When she helps me clean my playroom and helps me do stuff."
16. If your mom were a cartoon character, who would she be? "mmmm... a mom."
17. What do you and your mom do together? "Art."
18. How are you and your mom the same? "We have the same color skin."
19. How are you and your mom different? "Because my mom cooks and I play on the computer." 20. How do you know your mom loves you? "Because she gives me kisses."

(whew! I got off easy, I was definitely expecting something about my yelling in there.... I love you Sofie!)

Milestones...

Sofie has hit a major childhood milestone...She lost her first tooth! She was so cute!
She has been to Disneyland, met Santa Claus, met Cinderella, been to Europe, opened hundreds of birthday and Christmas presents, ridden ponies, had birthday parties, slumber parties, etc. and we have NEVER seen her so excited. She was so happy she almost cried. I wish I would have had my camera out. It was just pure joy and excitement. She thinks she is all grown up now. Kinda sad that she is growing up pretty dang fast. But so cute. We love her so much, missing teeth and all!

Random Pics.

So, if you haven't figured this out yet, I am playing catch up with my blogging photos. These are the last of them. Then I promise, I'll be done! ;)

Grandma Chris brought Sofie and Thomas some cowboy boots from Montana. They are obsessed with them. They pretend to ride horses together. Love it.

School Carnivals and Birthday Parties. AKA We Love it Here!

Have I mentioned lately how much we love this neighborhood??? Well, we do! We just went to the school carnival and it was really nice. Sofie saw all of her little friends and we visited with our friends from the neighborhood as well. We're way excited to start school there this year!!

End of school sleepover.

We had Avery and Sadie over for an end of school sleepover. They always have so much fun! We rode scooters to the park, went to the lake, played in the sprinklers, did artwork, watched movies, ate yummy food, and... slept a tiny bit.

Today we went up Big Cottonwood Canyon and had dinner with my mom's side of the family for my cousin Breck's birthday. It was great fun. We love my family! They are all so fun! There were some good times - My mom and her sister, Caren, hoolah hooping, the kids collecting WORMS, shooting arrows, great food, yummy s'mores, and good conversations...

Grandma Colleen...

Last night was my grandma Colleen's 80th birthday party. It was a surprise party at the Hidden Valley Country Club. It was so nice. It was great to see everyone in my family in that environment. Everyone in the family can testify to the fact that family parties at grandma's house are a little chaotic to say the least. So, it was nice to be able to see and visit with everyone and still have room to breathe. Grandma was totally surprised (or she's a really great actress!) and she got all teary and looked so happy. It was really great. My cousin Jen made a beautiful scrap book in which we would all write some memories that we have with grandma. I was a little weary at first, because I wasn't sure what to write. But quickly a flood of fond memories came to mind. 2 that popped out the most. One, she always used to sit me on her lap and read Shel Silverstein's "Where the Sidewalk Ends" (if you don't own this book, you should - click here). And second, was that she always used to sing, everything. Like, I would ask her for a drink of water and she would make a song out of, "Dusti needs a drink of water..." And she would always sing "Do re mi" The coolest thing as that I do both of these things with my own children. And I bet they will do the same with theirs. It's just amazing when you think about the many ways that our family heritage is carried on and how much one person may affect generations with the smallest acts. I love you grandma! We all joke around that she will outlive us all (she is so active and fit, it's crazy). Let's hope she has many, many more birthdays!

Svata playing with the camera during dinner... Cheeeese!

So handsome!
