Over this last year I have learned alot. I've learned about faith, patience, love, compassion, service, and much much more. I have also learned how much I really love, respect, and appreciate my husband. He has survived unemployment, uncertainty, and illness and through it all he has continued to be a great dad, an honorable husband, and a man we know we can always count on. Although these trials we have faced pale in comparison to what some have gone through, they have been difficult for us, but they have bound us together. Svata recently had a birthday and as I was reflecting on the year that he had had, I decided he deserved a BIG party to help him ring in a new year (one that will hopefully be a little less eventful)! We started off the morning of his birthday with his favorite Czech pastries (homemade of course:), Kolace. Then he got to relax throughout the day and play with his new camera. Then my mom (she is so great) went and picked up a shrimp scampi pizza for him and brought it home for lunch. Then the party... I think we had about 35 or 40 people here. The kids ran around crazy downstairs while the adults ate and visited. He was mad at me for doing this, but I made everyone write down one funny thing or just something they loved about Svata. He said that was embarrassing and cheesy. But I don't care. People wrote some funny stuff. But then, he's a pretty funny guy...
Tom and Aimee gave him the teddy bear. It also came with some really manly blue underwear. I will save the pictures of those for another time... :)
The Jagers wrote, "We love Steve's sense of humor. We love how he always makes us laugh. But most of all, we love how his package looks in tight jeans!!"
Considering the undies they gave him, I'm thinking maybe they love it a little too much??? Maybe one day he'll model it for you, if you're lucky...

Carter, Tiffany, and mom. Carter wrote, "You are the best Czech ninja movie star I have ever met. You have great moves." It still makes me laugh. If you haven't seen Svata's ninja movie, please call me. We will schedule a screening, immediately.

Aside from the fact that we had enough food leftover to feed a small village, I think the party went off without a hitch. And I hope Svata had a great day. We love you hon!!! Here's to many more years!
